Matthew V. Ferdon, Esq. is an associate attorney at Cona Elder Law. Mr. Ferdon concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and asset protection planning, trust and estate administration, probate, estate tax planning, and elder law. Mr. Ferdon received his Juris Doctor from Hofstra Law School, where he served as an Articles Editor for the Journal of International Business and Law and Vice President of the Hofstra Business Law Society. 

As a member of the Estate Planning department, Mr. Ferdon handles the preparation of Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, Health Care Proxies and Living Wills. During the estate planning process, he concentrates on developing asset protection strategies and protection of Medicaid benefits for adults and their families.  As part of the Estate Administration department, Mr. Ferdon is responsible for the preparation and filing of Surrogate’s Court petitions, including petitions for probate or administration, and assists clients with the day-to-day administration of estates, including the collection of assets, the preparation of estate tax returns, distribution of assets and the preparation of accountings.  When a loved one passes away, Mr. Ferdon provides legal advice and guidance to executors and trustees to ensure the timely administration and distribution of estate assets and protection from fiduciary liability.
