Cona Elder Law, a leading elder law firm based in Melville, LI was honored to receive the prestigious HIA-LI "Those Who Make a Difference” Award. Cona Elder Law Partner Melissa Negrin-Wiener, Esq.,Smithtown, received the award on the firm’s behalf at the annual awards
celebration held at the Stonebridge Golf Links & Country Club in Smithtown. For nine years, HIA-LI has recognized Long Island's extraordinary leaders and organizations that have contributed to the business community. “I'm proud to be among the honorees considered as the best of the businesses and individuals on LI," says Ms. Negrin-Wiener.
According to HIA-LI Chairman of the Board Bob Quarte, managing partner AVZ Company, P.C., "Cona Elder Law was chosen for their work as tireless advocates for the LI senior community and their dedication to various charities and community involvement." In 2007, the firm launched the nonprofit
organization Cona Elder Law Charitable Events featuring its signature program "Senior Dreams Come True” which grants wishes to low income seniors ranging from helping a senior meet basic needs to fulfilling a life-long dream. In addition, the Cona Elder Law team has volunteered, participated in
and raised money for charitable causes including the Long Island Alzheimer's Foundation (LIAF), the American Heart Association, the MS Society, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, to name a few.
Melissa also co-chairs the HIA-LI Healthcare Committee and has been actively involved in the development of the highly successful HIA-LI Annual Healthcare Conference.
