Long Island Go Red for Women Celebration is Scheduled for February 27, 2025, at Crest Hollow Country Club.

The American Heart Association, a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives, is going strong with the Long Island Go Red for Women Celebration, with Cona Elder Law PLLC stepping up to lead the charge in raising awareness and funds to improve women’s heart health. On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the highly anticipated event will take place at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, NY.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death in women, claiming more lives than all cancers combined, underscoring the importance of this life-saving movement.

“Heart disease doesn’t discriminate, and it’s critical that women of all ages and life stages take charge of their heart health,” said Jennifer Cona, Founder and Managing Partner of Cona Elder Law PLLC, and co-chair of the event. “Through Go Red for Women, we aim to empower women to recognize their unique risks and advocate for themselves and the women in their lives.”

The Long Island Go Red for Women Celebration unites women and their communities to prevent CVD through awareness, education and lifestyle changes. According to the American Heart Association, unique life stages like pregnancy and menopause can impact a woman’s risk for CVD, but the good news is that most cases of CVD can be prevented.

“As women grow and change, so does their risk for heart disease,” said Melissa Negrin-Wiener, Senior Partner at Cona Elder Law PLLC, and event co-chair. “This event is an opportunity to connect, educate and inspire women to prioritize their health while supporting groundbreaking research and lifesaving advocacy.”

The movement is supported by CVS Health, the national sponsor of Go Red for Women, alongside local sponsors including Live Fierce. Life is Why. sponsor Mount Sinai South Nassau, Live Fierce. Go Red. sponsor Northwell Health, Live Fierce. Be Well. sponsors Stony Brook Medicine and Webster Bank, Breakfast in Red sponsor Cona Elder Law PLLC, as well as Center for Wealth Preservation LLC, VOXX International Corporation, BDO, Capital One, EY, Kestra Medical Technologies, Nixon Peabody LLP, NYU Langone Health, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek P.C. and Valley National Bank.

“The Long Island Go Red for Women Celebration is a chance to celebrate survivors, honor loved ones lost and make a real difference in our community,” said Tara Lee Schneider, Executive Director of the American Heart Association on Long Island. “Together, we’re creating a world where women live longer, healthier lives.”
