Cona Elder Law Offers Free Assistance to Long Island Seniors Frustrated by Red Tape in the Appointment Process
Cona Elder Law, an award-winning Long Island law firm, has launched a “Vaccine Assistance Hotline” designed to help seniors schedule their COVID-19 inoculation appointments locally. The service is free of charge and is scheduled to continue at least until the end of March.
“As an Elder Law firm, we are keenly aware of the frustrations so many of our seniors are having as they try to get vaccines that may literally save their lives,” said the firm’s managing partner Jennifer Cona. “Lawyers are accustomed to sifting through rules, regulations, and the complicated processes that are stifling too many seniors. We’re well-equipped to help get our seniors vaccinated and we regard this opportunity to step up as a privilege.”
Metro New York residents aged 65 and older can call the hotline at 631-390-5000 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. One of the firm’s professionals will explain the scheduling options, including vaccination center preferences, which will be honored but cannot be guaranteed. The service is currently open to any qualifying senior and is not limited to clients of the firm.
“Commitment to the seniors in our community is at the heart of our firm’s core values,” said Ms. Cona. “Like so much during the pandemic, this is new to us. We hope we have the capacity to help everyone who needs it. While that may not be realistic, we are going to do our level best.”
