News Alert Managed Medicaid Transition: Implementation Delayed

The transition of nursing home residents to Medicaid Managed Care, scheduled to begin as of April 1, 2014, has been delayed. A new implementation date has not been set forth at this time.

Some key points to keep in mind:
♦ Only new residents (after the implementation date) will be subject to Medicaid Managed Care. All current facility residents will remain in fee-for-service Medicaid.
♦ New York City, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties will be in Phase 1 of the transition.
♦ All new residents (after the implementation date) will be required to enroll in a Managed Care Organization.
♦ Managed Care enrollees will select a nursing home from their plan provider network.

Stay tuned for more information as the transition to the Medicaid Managed Care program is rolled out.
