After growing 30% over each of the last several years and adding more employees, Cona Elder Law, the elder law and estate planning firm, has been stretched beyond the limits of the office they’ve occupied for seven years. Cona Elder Law will double the square footage in their new Melville headquarters at 225 Broadhollow Road. The relocation will take place in March 2012.
With the needs and wants of her 25 employees at the forefront in selecting and designing the new facility, managing partner Jennifer Cona, Esq. asked staff to submit a “wish” list of what they would like for added comfort and productivity for their workday.
The majority of employees said they would like as much natural light as possible so Cona Elder Law chose a building where they would occupy the entire side of a floor thereby encasing the suite in windows on all sides. In addition, the designer created vision panels in each private office allowing light to pass through to the common areas.
A meditation room was a unique feature also requested by several employees. Ms. Cona has transformed an interior office into a Zen room with a waterfall, stone garden, comfortable couch and an IPod docking station.
Laptops in each of the three conference rooms, coffee maker in reception, specific computer software, an electronic fax program, more file cabinets in each office, a printer in each department, an assembly area to compile documents, mailboxes outside each attorney’s office, a double sink in the kitchen, water and icemaker in the refrigerator are some of the other requests that have been fulfilled.
Not only does the firm take care of its employees but its clients and the community as well. Cona Elder Law has opened the Susan C. Snowe Caregiver Resource Center. The Center is open to Cona Elder Law clients and the public and has information on all aspects of senior living, finances, health care and more.
