Cona Elder Law, elder law and estate planning law firm, provides numerous community service programs to seniors and their families and help those in need through their nonprofit organization Cona Elder Law Charitable Events.
On Thursday, June 14th from 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM, Cona Elder Law and Jennifer B. Cona, Esq., managing partner, inaugurated the first Long Island resource center for seniors and caregivers with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Known as the Susan C. Snowe Caregiver Resource Center, the event was attended by political dignitaries, the public and professionals.
In a confidential setting at the Cona Elder Law headquarters, 225 Broad Hollow Road, Melville, community members will have access to information, materials and resources on assisted living facilities, home care agencies, nursing homes, senior housing, long term care insurance, reverse mortgages and more. The information is being donated by various L.I. organizations. A computer is available at the center so those who stop by can do additional on-line research.
As an added benefit, Cona Elder Law will offer caregivers and seniors the opportunity to speak to an elder law attorney on Tuesdays, between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm, at no charge.
In addition to the center, Cona Elder Law is housing the first permanent exhibit of the award winning veteran news photographer Phil Stanziola. It features black and white photos of past presidents, celebrities and noteworthy news events. Most of the photos have been published in The Daily News, The World Telegram and Life Magazine.
