Each year on the second Saturday in May, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger® Food Drive spreads out across America to help provide assistance to Americans who are struggling with hunger.
To participate, simply leave non-perishable food items at your mailbox on May 11th for your local letter carrier to pick up!
After the food is collected, it is brought to a central warehouse where the Cona Elder Law team will be volunteering their time in support of Island Harvest to sort, pack, and prepare the food for distribution. The food will then be transported to agencies, shelters, and food pantries across Nassau and Suffolk Counties that rely on donated food as a major source of their food supplies.
Last year, more than 300,000 pounds of food was collected and distributed to more than 300,000 Long Islanders in need!
