Brian Haran, Esq. Joins Cona Elder Law as Senior Associate Attorney

Jennifer Cona, managing partner of Cona Elder Law, a leading elder law firm based in Melville, announces that Brian Haran, Rockville Centre resident, has joined the practice as a senior associate attorney in the firm's Health Care Reimbursement and Recovery Department.  Mr. Haran handles civil litigation, dispute resolution, guardianship proceedings, estate litigation and resolution of all issues related to health care facility residents’ financial accounts.

Prior to joining Cona Elder Law, Mr. Haran served as a litigator and trial attorney at Cobert, Haber and Haber in Garden City.  Previously, he was a staff attorney at Geico and also served as assistant district attorney to Kathleen Rice at the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office.  

Throughout his career spanning the past decade, Mr. Haran managed a diverse caseload in civil matters, real estate, personal injury and criminal defense cases.  He effectively handled a high volume of depositions, trials, mediation, investigations, enforcement of judgments, discovery proceedings and countless settlement negotiations. 

“Brian’s undergraduate degree in psychology is invaluable to complementing his skills as a litigator and advocate for the elderly and the health care facilities who care for the senior population,” says Jennifer Cona. “With proven skills in managing a demanding caseload, he litigates when necessary but prides himself on resolving matters quickly and cost-effectively for our clients.”  

Mr. Haran pratices before the Supreme Court and Surrogates Courts of Nassau County, Suffolk County, all boroughs of the City of New York and numerous upstate counties.

Mr. Haran earned both his Juris Doctor degree and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.  Locally, he is a graduate of Chaminade High School.  He interned for a New York State Supreme Court Justice and served as a legislative aide to a Hempstead councilman.  Haran is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association and the Irish-American Bar Association.
