Cona Elder Law, a leading elder law and estate planning firm in Melville, raised nearly $ 5,000 for the National Alzheimer’s Association by participating in the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s with the Long Island chapter on Saturday, September 19th. A team of 25 Cona Elder Law employees and friends, walked two miles at Belmont Lake State Park.
The Long Island walk drew 240 teams with over 2,000 individual participants. So far, they have raised more than $ 300,000.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions. Alzheimer’s is the sixth leading cause of death.
Memory Walk® began in 1989 with nine Alzheimer’s Association chapters raising $ 149,000 from 1,249 participants. In 2014, more than 49,000 teams participated in over 600 Walks across the country raising over $ 67 million.
