Melville, NY, March 22, 2019 – Genser Cona Elder Law donated food and clothing to more than 150 homeless individuals in New York City as part of the Midnight Run relief mission on Saturday night, March 16, 2019.
The firm distributed its donations, which included blankets, sleeping bags, warm coats and outerwear, socks, bottled water, toiletries, sandwiches and healthy snacks at five scheduled stops in the city. Although 13 members of the firm made the Run, the charitable endeavor was a collective effort where the entire staff pitched in to solicit donations from colleagues and the community, and to help organize, bag and label donations, and load the goods into three vehicles that made the trip.
“This is our fifth year participating in the Midnight Run, and it is always such a gratifying and rewarding experience for all of us,” said Cona Elder Law managing partner, Jennifer Cona. “We are fortunate to be in a position to give back to the community and help those in great need, which is why we regularly participate in this safety-net program. Altruism and the ability to make a difference in people’s lives are part of the culture at Cona Elder Law. Our participation in Midnight Run would not have been possible without the help of our private donors as well as our corporate sponsors, including The Bristal North Hills, Lend-a-Hand, Citrin Cooperman and Costco.”
Cona Elder Law is one of the only private companies to regularly participate in Midnight Run, which typically sees volunteers from schools, churches, synagogues and other civic groups.
